A New Works festival featuring original plays by some of New Mexico’s most exciting playwrights!

Duke City Rep returns this February with a new works festival like no other! Featuring staged readings by local playwrights throughout Albuquerque, Queer as Folk – plays about the LGBTQIA+ community

FEATURED WORKS:

Hart Island by Tatiana Isabel Gil: Three women in an asylum navigate their sexualities in a system that is hell bent on torturing it out of their bodies. Who will win: them or the hospital? Starring Ana Rios, Caroline Toby Graham, and Jayla Franklin-Sullivan, directed by Georgina Escobar

Twenty Questions by A Yourd: Trev pours the drinks at the local gay dive bar. James is a regular and a serial dater. When James goes through yet another breakup, Trev recalls the string of nights that led to this moment. Starring Isaac Dean Carillo and Kane Distler, directed by Josh Browner

Santa Delilah by Alex Gonzales Armbrüster: Santa Delilah tells the story of a young woman chosen by God to bear the next coming of Christ against her will. It is a story about faith and love and what it looks like when those things are abused. Starring Ana Rios, Noe Field-Perkins, Andy Gustke, Amelia Ampuero, and Evening Star Barron, directed by Rachel Sedillo.
