Summer Reading Concert: Duke City Guitar Trio

The Duke City Guitar Trio formed in 2018 with the goal of performing new guitar music. Members of the trio, Corey Jones, Daniel Rolison, and Martin Ly, met during their studies at the University of New Mexico under Michael Chapdelaine’s tutelage. They became friends and musical companions through their foundation of classical guitar and desire to learn and perform new music. Jones is the resident composer of the trio, composing the bulk of the trio’s repertoire, with compositions such as The Eyre Suite, based on the novel Jane Eyre. While predominantly a classical guitar trio, there are occasions when electric instruments or even an additional special guest is required to bring the music to life. Guitar New Mexico in collaboration with the Friends of the Public Library is excited to present a classical guitar series that will feature local guitarists in concert.
