Books to the Big Screen

All month long, libraries across Albuquerque will be having their annual book-to-film adaptation event on February 7 from 4:30-5:30 pm, at the Taylor Ranch Library.

Roald Dahl will be the featured author. Remember “Matilda”?

Ready for Laughter: The Legacy of Bob Hope

A new traveling exhibit Ready for Laughter: The Legacy of Bob Hope is opening at the National Museum of Nuclear Science & History on February 17 at 9:00 am.

Using multimedia elements and captivating storytelling, the exhibit honors Bob Hope’s 50 years of performing USO shows and highlights how Hope helped lift the human spirit during one of the darkest times in American history.

The exhibit will be on display through April 30, 2023. Don’t miss your chance to see it!

Family Art Workshop

Stop by the Albuquerque Museum School every Saturday afternoon from 1:00-2:30 pm for family art workshops. Each week has a different theme for you to choose from.

Try your handiwork with a variety of art mediums — all materials supplied. This event is child and grown-up friendly!

Romeo & Juliet

Shakespeare’s timeless tragedy, “Romeo and Juliet” comes to life in a performance at Popejoy Hall on February 19 at 4:00 pm. Our Planet Live Concert

The landmark Emmy Award®-winning Netflix series that took the world by storm is now a live concert event coming to Popejoy Hall on February 24 from 7:30-9:30 pm! Our Planet – Live in Concert combines breathtaking HD cinematography with all-new orchestrations by Oscar®-winning composer Steven Price performed by a live onstage orchestra. A journey of discovery across our planet featuring narration by David Attenborough, this mesmerizing concert is a spectacular celebration of the planet we call home – welcoming audiences to be fully immersed into the wonders of earth’s wildlife and their habitats.

Family Nature Club: Carving Out History

Join an Open Space education park ranger for a family-friendly hike and engage in hands-on learning together as a family on February 25 from 10:00 am to 12 pm. Seek out petroglyphs at Rinconada Canyon nestled in the Petroglyph National Monument while exploring the rich human history of the Middle Rio Grande Valley. Enjoy natural history fun facts, storytelling, and seeking out wildlife along the way! The hike is approximately 1.5 miles long with slight rolling elevation gain along a sandy canyon-bottom trail.

2nd Annual Los Ranchos Matanza

The Agri-Nature Center of Los Ranchos is bringing the centuries-old centuries tradition back to the North Valley on Saturday, February 25 from 1:00-5:00 pm. The main dishes will be pig, turkey, and lamb, slow-roasted in a coal pit. The food will be prepared by Chef Jon Young, a NM Taste the Tradition chef ambassador. Enjoy live music and games for your entertainment. This event is perfect for the whole family!

Escape the Plane – Escape Room

The Cherry Hills Library will be hosting an Escape Room on February 27 starting at 6:30 pm!

Imagine: you and your friends or family are on your way to a relaxing getaway overseas, but the captain and the copilot are not in the cockpit and have completely disappeared from the plane!

Guests must find the emergency autopilot code before it takes a nose dive into the sea! This is an Escape Room you won’t want to miss!
