Give your mom a break from all of the craziness with a trip to the Rio Grande Nature Center where she can take in the peacefulness of nature. For a fancier evening, take your mom to dinner at Los Poblanos then head over to the Los Poblanos Open Space to watch the sunset while listening to the musical artists and performers they have lined up. For a full day of fun, what’s better than taking her to the Zoo and seeing all the brand-new babies and their mothers?! Now, if you really want to treat your mom, mark seeing Hamilton off her bucket list, live at Popejoy Hall! It’s a show you won’t want to miss. Spring Garden Festival
Make this Mother’s Day a weekend of celebrations starting at the Rio Grande Nature Center for their Spring Garden Festival!
The little ones will be occupied with the awesome activities planned just for them, while mom can spend the day peacefully visiting the exhibitions, bird watching, and more. She can also enjoy guided walks around the park and live acoustic music.
Free Community Concert on Mother’s Day Weekend
Give your mom the relaxing evening she deserves when you take her to Los Poblanos Fields Open Space on May 13th from 6:00 – 8:30 pm. Kick back and relax with a picnic dinner or dinner at the venue while listening to some great musical artists and performers. In addition, there will be paletas, face painting, the bosque traveling exhibit truck, a rock climbing wall, hands-on nature activities, and incredible views of your public lands under the light of the setting sun.
Mother’s Day at the Zoo
Show your mom that you aren’t the only wild animal out there when you take her to the ABQ BioPark Zoo for Mother’s Day! All moms will be celebrated during this special day whether they have toes, paws, hooves or claws.
See the newest additions to the zoo and their mothers, enjoy great music all around the grounds, and feed the infamous ducks at the duck pond. To make your mom feel even more special, have a picnic on the grass and take in the sounds of nature together!

Mother’s Day in Old Town
Take your mom out for a day of fun in Historic Old Town from 1:00 – 5:00 pm! Walk around the Plaza and see all the amazing merchants who may just have the perfect gift for you to choose from.
There will be local entertainment from Levi Dean and the Mesa Rats, Fiesta Mexicana, and Son Como Son. Eat, dance, and have some fun. This event is the perfect way to celebrate the mom in your life!
